We're pretty serious about keeping your info safe - here's the full picture of how we handle your data.
Last Updated: October 21, 2025
Hey there! Look, we get it - privacy policies can be a real slog to read through. But since we're asking you to trust us with your project details and personal info, we figured you deserve to know exactly what we're doing with it. We've tried to keep this as straightforward as possible, but if something's unclear, just give us a shout at info@obsidrixquest.info.
We're Obsidrix Quest Architecture, a Toronto-based firm that's been blending sustainable design with heritage restoration since... well, let's just say we've been at it for a while. You can find us at 425 Queen Street West, Suite 302, Toronto, ON M5V 2A5, Canada.
This policy covers any info you share with us through our website, emails, phone calls, or when you walk through our door. Whether you're inquiring about a residential renovation or a full-scale commercial development, the same rules apply.
Quick note: We're subject to Canadian privacy laws, specifically PIPEDA (Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act), which means we've got some serious obligations to keep your data secure.
When you reach out or work with us, we'll typically collect things like:
Like most websites, ours picks up some technical details when you visit:
When we're actually working on your project, we'll also handle architectural drawings, site photos, heritage documentation, sustainability assessments, and all that technical stuff that goes into creating spaces that actually work.
We're not in the business of collecting data just for fun. Here's what we actually do with it:
We won't sell your info to third parties or use it for anything sketchy. That's not how we roll.
We keep your information pretty close to the vest, but sometimes we need to share it with:
Structural engineers, contractors, heritage consultants, sustainability specialists - basically the team needed to bring your project to life. They only get what's relevant to their part of the work.
Our cloud storage, email systems, accounting software - the tools that keep a modern firm running. These folks are bound by their own privacy agreements.
City planning departments, heritage boards, building inspectors - when permits and approvals are involved, certain info has to be shared. It's just part of the process.
Our lawyers, accountants, and insurance providers sometimes need access to protect both your interests and ours.
Important: Anyone we work with is required to keep your information confidential and use it only for the specific purpose we've shared it for. We're not just handing it out to anyone who asks.
Yeah, we use cookies - but not the delicious kind. These are small files that help our website work better and remember your preferences.
These keep the site functioning. Without them, things like contact forms wouldn't work properly. Can't really turn these off if you want to use the site.
Help us understand how people use our site - which pages are popular, where folks get stuck, that kind of thing. It's all anonymized data, nothing personal.
Remember your choices so you don't have to keep re-entering info or adjusting settings every time you visit.
Most browsers let you control cookies through their settings. Just know that blocking some cookies might make parts of the site less functional.
Security's a big deal for us. We've got several layers of protection in place:
That said, no system's 100% bulletproof. We do our best, but if there's ever a breach, we'll let you know right away and work to fix it.
We don't keep your information forever - just as long as we need it.
While we're working together, we'll obviously keep everything we need to complete your project properly.
For completed projects, we typically keep records for 7-10 years. This isn't us being nosy - it's partly legal requirements (tax stuff, liability protection) and partly practical (in case you need drawings or documentation down the road).
If we've photographed your completed project for our portfolio (with your permission, of course), we'll keep those images as long as they're relevant to showcasing our work.
If you reach out but we don't end up working together, we'll keep your contact info for about 2 years in case you change your mind. After that, it gets deleted unless you've asked us to stay in touch.
Your data, your rights. Here's what you can do:
Want to see what we've got on file? Just ask. We'll get you a copy of your personal information within a reasonable timeframe.
If something's wrong or outdated, let us know and we'll fix it.
You can ask us to delete your personal information, though we might need to keep some stuff for legal or contractual reasons (like completed project records).
If you've agreed to receive updates or marketing from us, you can change your mind anytime. There's an unsubscribe link in every email we send.
You can object to how we're using your data, though this might affect our ability to provide certain services.
Want your data in a format you can use elsewhere? We can do that for the information you've provided to us.
To exercise any of these rights, reach out to us at info@obsidrixquest.info or call (416) 555-0847. We'll respond within 30 days.
Our website might link to other sites - manufacturer specs, sustainability resources, design inspiration platforms, that kind of thing. Once you click through to another site, their privacy policy takes over, not ours.
We try to only link to reputable sources, but we can't control what they do with your data. It's worth checking out their privacy policies too if you're concerned.
Same goes for any social media platforms where we might have a presence. Their rules apply when you're interacting with us there.
Things change - laws get updated, we might start using new tools, or we might expand our services. When that happens, we'll update this policy.
Any significant changes will be posted here with a new "Last Updated" date at the top. For major changes that affect how we handle your data, we'll reach out directly if we have your contact info.
It's worth checking back here occasionally, especially if it's been a while since you've looked.
If something in this policy doesn't make sense, or if you've got concerns about how we're handling your information, please get in touch. Seriously - we'd rather clear things up than have you wondering.

If you're not satisfied with how we've addressed your concerns, you also have the right to file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. But hopefully it won't come to that - let's talk first.
We're here to help clarify anything about how we protect your privacy. Don't hesitate to reach out.
